In Which Alex and Tom Go To Creepy Castles

This weekend, Tom and I went to Hurst Castle. http://www.hurstcastle.co.uk/

The castle is on Hurst Spit, off Keyhaven, near Lymington.

It was amazing. We got the ferry from Keyhaven over the water to the castle and walked around eerie chambers and rooms. It was hard to imagine the number of soldiers that would have lived there, served there and possibly died there since Henry VIII had the first castle built. The massive guns that point out toward the Isle of Wight were the size of lorries. I couldn't find out if they had ever fired from there.

It's definately the kind of place that would be requisitioned if there was another sea based war.
