All the things she said...

.. or rather didn't.

I don't know where that came from!

Today I am celebrating because I landed a the first sale in the office of our new higher price product.

*dances*

It's been a good month October...

I have:
  • written some more on my book
  • got a new shiny bike
  • won the Moss Prize for my dissertation being the best Jewish flavoured undergraduate essay in my year
  • met Will Self
  • started ballroom dancing again
  • finished knitting a baby blanket for Simon's new one
  • knitted a hat for my sister's xmas present
  • had plenty of ad hoc parties
  • gone to London with my Family to see Wicked. I can'tstop singing the songs!
  • painted boxes
  • gone dancing so many times in my head when no one's looking
  • decided to learn swing dance in January
It's been such a lovely crisp month, all twinkly winter lights and freezing people when I hug them.I't s been leg warmers over ankle boots and pretty dresses. Gleaming with rosy cheeks as Tom and I stroll around.

Roll on November!

Some Thoughts

The significance of man is that he is insignificant and is aware of it.
  - Carl Becker

This flashed up on my iGoogle Quote of the Day gadget today and it sums up how I feel feel about being human nicely. Read Maya by Jostein Gaarder for more on this. I love how that book goes on about being less than a blink in the eye of the universe.

Isn't it awkward when you're on the phone and you have to end a conversation. Both parties do a garbled dance of "Thanks" and "Bye" till the other puts the phone down.

It’s coming!

The other day I cycled home from work as the sun hung low in the sky. The air was crisp and the wind cut through me harshly. Inside my head was a mess of the day just gone, snippets of conversation swirling endlessly around. When I reached the Common something snapped. The sun hit the top of the trees and all become golden. Silhouettes of branches cast on gold sky on the right, over – achieving, rugby playing Adonis – like young men to the right in all their clean cut glory.

And in that moment all was well.

I love it when the air has gone from end of summer haze to crisp autumn snap. I am revelling in wild rainy afternoons where I am safe and warm indoors, and bringing out all my knitwear for warmth.

Winter is coming.

I am excited. We went to the pub the other day, and as we left, there was that magical twinkly feeling of going somewhere in the dark, the lights and people's cheeks shining. There's nothing as festive as winter.

It’s coming!
