Oh the deadwood stage is rolling all over the hills..

That's not the actual words. That's not my point. I'm having a Calamity Jane of week and it's only Tuesday!

I get up late..entirely my own fault, but then rescue my self by working overfast and actually arriving early! See I'm so twisted I do things backwards. Then there was the fire drill right in the middle of my art lesson, meaning I had to leave my piece of 3d cubist inspired sewing, and when I came back I promptly sewed my side pieces on upside down!

The next straw came after my amzing frenching speaking exam practice session. More on that session actuallly, I flowed. I felt like I was having a proper conversation with my teacher. It was
so fun..I feel far more confident about my exam now....but back to the point... I lost my art folder with everything I'd done that day inside it, and the knitting I was doing! I went back around school, I looked in every class room. Despondant..I went home

Another straw for my back came as I rushed off to youthgroup. I'd planned this great game to emphasise being careful of rushing into things, and making deals you don't understand. I'd preapred a selection of horrible and nice finger foods, ie grapes, olives, mushrooms, mints. But as I raced round to the centre, the olives leaked on my marshmallows and then went all soggy and had to be disposed of. I washed off the rest of the food when I arrived. The game was a success though..I was impressed that both of the girls ate everything with onnly one chickening out after the olives. Except I wouldn't let her chicken out as I'd made a contract with them.

The final straw was right at the end of the evening, we played a drama game called 'Freeze'. Two people act out a scene, when the audience gets bored, they yell freeze, and one of the actors is replaced. The new actor has to take the exact shape of the depating one, but must change the scene completely. Fussy eater girl wrecked the game completely, talk about having no imagination. She's not shy, she's not stupid, but she just stood there going "I don't like drama I don't know what to do" with a huge grin on her face.

It's not like she was in front of a crowd of hundreds, she was in a room with 5 other people. Afew weeks ago when the youth were asked whatthey'sdlike to be doing more of, she voted for drama, saying "I love Drama" Grrrr.............

Isn't this a lovely idea

We had a shortage of single men and women invited to our wedding, most of our friends and family were already married. So we needed to come up with something different to replace the traditional bouquet and garter throwing. We invited everyone to the dance floor and the dj played several lovely, slow songs. First the dj told all couples married two hours or less to sit down (everyone got a kick out of that). Then a few moments later, any married a year or less, than five years, ten years and so on, until there was only one couple left. They were neighbors and friends of my family and had been married for fifty years. We asked them to stay on the dance floor while I took a seat and my husband made a big show of removing my garter. We then faced the winning couple, congratulated them on their fifty years and asked them for their best marriage advice as we presented them with the bouquet and garter. They were very touched and it gave us a great feeling too

Who Should You Vote For?

Who Should You Vote For?

Oh I'm looking forward to this general election! It's the first time I'll be able to vote and I intendto make full use of my democratic right.

I urge anyone who can to do so too. If the whole country got off their bottoms and voted, then we might see a change for good in this country.

I'm leaning towards LibDem atm, as voting for them would be true to my current views, as a would be student. Now whether they'd be better for the whole country I don't know.

Higher taxation for people who earn more than £100k seems fair to me. If they earn that much, they can afford to contribute more to the running of the country.

What I'd really like to see is money being used effectively. The school system is pants, and as someone who's nearly finished with it, I have lots of horror stories. The NHS, once our national pride and joy is crippled. If Mr Blair can suddenly find £200million to sort out school dinners, the latest celeb campaign, then why can't is suddenly find £200millon to renovate a few hospital wards or buy my school science books it sorely needs?

Why has Mr Blair lied to us so often? Top Up Fees for example? If Labour get back into power I'm going to be saddled with more debt for studying to be a secondary school teacher, another much needed service. LibDem all the way with that one! Maybe teachers should get their tuition fees paid like someone who wants to become a doctor/nurse/midwife.

ANYHOO

Who Should You Vote For?

Who should I vote for?

Labour -15
Conservative -17
Liberal Democrat 36
UK Independence Party 10
Green 20

You should vote: Liberal Democrat

The LibDems take a strong stand against tax cuts and a strong one in favour of public services: they would make long-term residential care for the elderly free across the UK, and scrap university tuition fees. They are in favour of a ban on smoking in public places, but would relax laws on cannabis. They propose to change vehicle taxation to be based on usage rather than ownership.

Take the test at Who Should You Vote For

*Edit* I'm fuming now....no one told me, and I didn't see it in the papers, or online, or anywhere. To be able to vote in the May 05 elections you had to register by 11th March 2005.

It says on http://www.aboutmyvote.co.uk that a during the 'annual canvas' a form would have been put through the door so everyone in my household could register. Well we didn't get one. I'm going to hassle some people now... I'm ANGRY!!!!!!

I'm knitting for me again

Damn it's gratifying!

Glampyre if you read this forgive me for bastardising your boobholder/minisweater pattern.

Yes I am making my first ever adult sweater. Yes I'm doing it without a pattern. Yes in cheap acrylic yarn because it will wash well. In red to match my luciously red gold hair which Rob dyed for me.

imagine if you will a victorian-esque with puffed sleeves going into tight fitted ones in 2x2 rib, the minisweater top and a 2x2 rib body. It's goin gto hug me and love me.

I hope it works

Something of an updato

Easter hols have gone from a week of play and pain ot a week of hard graft in time for school. It's been basically a holiday to do work in...so i'm off to do more art.

I enjoyed last week, but it had some of the most painful moments of my life so far in it. I really hope I can learn from it and keep going.
